The industries we build for

Five industries where systems we built are in daily use. What is particular about each, and what we built for it.

Hardware

Small parts in many sizes and grades, bought from suppliers whose rate lists change often, and sold on credit to contractors who settle at the end of the month.

What we built

  • Stock tracked by batch, so a count is right down to the size
  • Supplier rate lists imported straight from the files suppliers send
  • A khata for every contractor, with the balance current after each sale
Hardware is a lot of small parts in a lot of sizes, and we used to find out something had run out when a customer asked for it. Now I check stock in Polaris before I order. When something did not fit the way we work, Hassan changed it.

Retail

A counter that cannot stop for the software, customers who buy on account, and sales tax that still has to be filed at the end of it.

What we built

  • Billing, returns and customer balances at the counter
  • FBR Annexure C exported with all 13 columns filled from the ledger
  • Questions in Urdu or English, answered from the live data
We switched from Excel last year. Reconciliation that used to eat the morning now happens before chai is finished, and our customers check their balances on their own phones.

Packaging

Work is made to order. Every job carries a size, a material and a print, and the stock that matters is board, film and ink as much as finished cartons.

What we built

  • Order and inventory tracking built around each job's size, material and print
  • Automations that move an order from sales to production to dispatch
  • Websites that show the range and take enquiries

Insurance

The work arrives as documents and forms, and much of the day is someone reading one and typing what it says into another system.

What we built

  • Automation that reads the documents and extracts what the next step needs, with a person checking the cases that need one
  • Portals and internal dashboards over the data the business already holds
  • The company website

Marketing agencies

The output depends on each client's brand, documents and numbers, and one client's material must never surface in another client's work.

What we built

  • Obelisk: agents for SEO, email, brand voice and strategy, each working inside one client's workspace
  • Retrieval that answers quickly: the first token went from 22s to 8 to 10s
  • Sites and automations for the agency's own operations
